Responsibilities:
The incumbent must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without accommodation:
The Assistant Controller is responsible for administering the company’s financial reporting, accounting, compliance functions, and lead project implementations.
Compliance
Develop and enforce policies and standard operating procedures.
Prepare accounting for complex transactions and those requiring judgment
Run the monthly close process which includes 60 plants.
Audit
Ensure company policy and procedure is compliant with USGAAP, Local GAAP, and Credit Agreement requirements.
Implement and manage an internal balance sheet review and internal audit process.
Coordinate external auditor function and advisors to ensure transparency.
Manage internal representation letter processes and disclosure committee activities.
Standardize account reconciliation documents and open item tracking.
Financial Reporting
Creation and issuance of external reporting required under local laws, credit agreements, and the SEC.
Preparation/Review of all documents
Coordinate internal reporting for compliance with Private Equity monthly/quarterly reporting requirements.
Sarbanes Oxley
Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal control environment (SOX Compliant)
o Implementation of a Sarbanes Oxley Implementation Plan
o Implementation of Segregation of Duty Protocols
o Manage internal Representation Letter Processes and Disclosure Committee Activities
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. CPA or worldwide equivalent is required. At least 5 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, and/or Controllership is necessary with a minimum of 6 years of experience in a public accounting firm. Experience in Corporate Accounting roles within a complex industrial company is preferred. Experience with SOX requirements, implementation, and maintenance is desired. Proven track record of success in job performance. Possesses excellent Project Management skills and has led projects.

The position is located at Corporate Headquarters in Buffalo, NY or Glastonbury, CT, and reports to the Corporate Controller.
