Job Summary: The Kitting Clerk performs the physical and administrative tasks involved in work order kitting, auditing, shortage fulfillment, material handling, and cycle count. This role reports to the Inventory Control Supervisor and is in Newark, CA.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Perform kitting physical tasks:
- Accurately pull kits and material per Warehouse, Planning, Manufacturing, and customer requirements,
- Audit pulled work orders as instructed,
- Count and put away returned material,
- Move material with use of carts, hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklift; backfill material shortages in cooperation with Warehouse team.
- Perform kitting administrative tasks:
- Perform cycle count on inventory and resolve count variances,
- Properly store raw material and label in component ID system,
- Coordinate inventory and kitting discrepancies with Supervisor,
- Consistently apply all standard operating procedures, as well as ESD and manufacturing requirements for parts quality.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks as requested.
- Provide team support:
- Demonstrate work methods to new hires,
- Share best practices, assist in minor troubleshooting,
- Actively participate in cross-training.
- MIS/MRP/ERP systems (Oracle),
- Barcode scanners, barcode software, and label printing software/equipment,
- Carts, pallet jacks, and forklift,
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel),
- Smocks and ESD shoe straps,
- Material handling and preservation equipment; vacuum sealer, vacuum pens, scale counter, tape/reel, counter, barcode scanner, ESD/MSL packaging,
- Data load software (inventory field population).
- High school diploma or GED,
- Minimum one year of related experience and/or training.
- Indoors, environmentally controlled and secured,
- Highly structured work environment,
- Daily use of telephone, email, and face-to-face communication with warehouse team,
- Importance of being accurate regarding cycle count, shipping information, and data entry,
- Moderate time pressure required to enter data daily,
- Teamwork,
- Completer-finisher role,
- High security and safety standards.
