Job Title : Senior Planner

Job Overview :

The Senior Planner plans, schedules, and coordinates the efficient movement of material through the production cycle, creates and manages work orders and is responsible for materials data input and integrity to effectively manage delivery and inventory costs. Key KPI's are On Time Delivery and Inventory Turns. Reports to Planning Manager. Located at the Unigen Headquarters in Newark, CA.

Primary Job Responsibilities :

1. Manage Project Item Master

Monitor, control and report data accuracy and integrity of the IM : check, analyze and verify part number type (Make / Buy), item revision level, AMLMPN (Approved Manufacturer Part Number), RAW part lead time, make part process time, multilevel material BOM structure, phantom subassembly, OSP (Outside Processing), attrition / Safety Stock (SS), Turnkey (TK) / Consigned (CS) parts, etc.

2. Manage Project Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

Load and create all demand into ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)

Align (HMRP : Supply & demand from period to period), and prioritize and allocate material to meet actual demand (customer build plan / forecast (FCST), Sales Order (SO) and Plan Order)

3. Manage Project Master Production Scheduling (MPS) from Demand to Ship

Release WO & OSP order schedule and quantity (Qty) for best balancing ship date, material and engineering tooling readiness and production scheduling

Manage MT and MCR for production and / or between project & site

Monitor WIP (Work-In-Progress) WO

Reserve FG (Finished Goods) inventory, prepare DN (Delivery Notice) and generate SO Pick Release to Warehouse & Shipping

Oversee and audit inventory transfers and activities throughout all plants

Complete OF (Order Fulfillment) as needed

Coordinate with CFT for WIP bone pile cleaning and aged SO & WO closure

4. Perform material What-if-Analysis (WIA) (a.k.a. Before / After Review & Analysis) for demand loading

Conduct WIA for all demand before loading (current MPS, customer new FCST / PO, Clear-To-Build (CTB), production capacity / capability, & demand load strategy (e.g. Combine / spilt, weekly / monthly time slot)), when it is requested by customer or Program Manager. Planner will do WIA when there is a need to calculate the best ETA and understand the overall materials status for particular work order.

5. Coordinate the efficient movement of material through the production cycle

Determine progress of work against the production schedule

Provide information to PM (Program Manager), SCM (Supply Chain Management) & Buyer for gating materials & / or manufacturing issues if any

Coordinate & resolve material issues for WO, OSP order, RMA, Rework WO, pilot build, or qualification build through gating expedite, inventory re-allocation, MT, MCR, etc.

6. Monitor MRP Exception Messages

Address MRP exception messages, transactions or unknown activity and resolve any issues

Alert CFT & related party for quick solution

7. Analyze and communicate demand schedule, material data & inventory status

Prepare, analyze and communicate the following primary periodic reports and other items : demand plan-commit-OTD review, MPS demand trend, SO Backlog, WIP progress, demand E&O (Excess & Obsolete), total inventory (On Hand-On Order-RAW-FG) review, CS / CVMI (Customer-Vendor-Managed-Inventory) inventory, Item Master correctness and updates

Prepare, analyze and communicate the following secondary non-periodic reports and other items : Attrition Comprehensive Review (attrition consumption-safety stock-demand-run rate), DFM (Design-For-Manufacturing) review for SMT (Surface Mount Technology) raw parts MPN, etc

Other tasks and responsibilities related to Material Planning function as assigned

Required Education and Experience :

BS / BA degree in business / social science or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years of work experience in material planning and production scheduling in fast pace working environment like Contract Manufacturing (CM) or Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry.
