Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Architectural Sales Representative to drive sales growth of our innovative paving products within the Florida market. This role focuses on generating sales within the design and development sectors, emphasizing Unilock product specifications for commercial, industrial, and municipal projects within the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in architectural sales within the construction materials industry, a deep understanding of the specification process, and experience working with design professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Specification Generation: Drive Unilock product specifications for commercial, industrial, and municipal projects within the assigned territory.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, architectural, and landscape architectural professionals in both the private and public sectors to develop Unilock specifications.
- Relationship Management: Manage and maintain relationships with a customer base of commercial landscape contractors.
- Technical Support: Advise design consultants on the appropriate selection and specifications of products, providing necessary technical support.
- Documentation: Assist designers and project management teams in creating specification documents and technical drawings.
- Sales Tracking: Follow up on, record, and track projects from the early design stage through to final sale and installation of Unilock products.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with design professionals and commercial contractors.
- Architectural Presentations: Conduct engaging and informative "Lunch and Learn" presentations and plant tours for Landscape Architects and Prime Architects, showcasing our product offerings and capabilities.
- Specification Development: Generate demand by securing Basis of Design specifications for our paving products on new construction and renovation projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with existing plant and sales teams (where applicable) to leverage resources and maximize sales efforts.
- Contractor Network Development: Cultivate and maintain a robust network of loyal contractors and applicators, including subcontractors, roofing contractors, waterproofers, and general contractors.
- Industry Engagement: Actively participate in relevant local trade associations, such as regional ASLA Landscape Associations, local IIBEC Chapters (Roof Consultants and Building Enclosures Council), and ICRI Chapters, to enhance market presence and brand awareness.
- Social Media Marketing: Utilize LinkedIn and other social media platforms to promote our products and build brand visibility.
- Commercial Program Promotion: Drive demand for our paving products through effective promotion of our new commercial made-to-order program, website catalog, and sample program.
- Lead Generation: Leverage Unilock’s chosen information service platforms to identify projects in the planning stages and proactively pursue specification opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of successful sales experience in the specifying community, with the ability to read prints and plans, and perform estimating.
- Knowledge of the commercial specification and construction process.
- High sense of urgency and goal-driven with a need-to-win attitude.
- Commitment to providing excellent client service.
- Effective presentation and written communication skills; comfortable with public speaking.
- Sound critical thinking skills to manage customer objections and questions effectively.
- Must not represent any competing product lines.
- Must reside in the state of Florida.
- Must provide own transportation and office equipment (laptop, cell phone, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and other relevant software.
- Experience with Dodge and ConstructConnect is a plus.
