Position Summary:
The Mold Engineering Manager is responsible for providing oversight and technical support for order fulfillment, project engineering and new product development for all mold products. This position is responsible for managing a cross-functional technical department focused on delivering high-quality products and innovations that satisfy customer requirements. This role leads a team that provides engineering support to Product Management, Sales, Field Service, and Manufacturing across the North American organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in the creation and implementation of the technical strategy for the company.
- Works with Product Management to define and implement new features/content into existing products.
- Executes engineering tools such as DFMs, FMEAs, and FEAs in the product development stages and in problem solving to ensure that only the highest quality products are manufactured when taken into production.
- Ensures all products meet company, industry, and any applicable regulatory standards.
- Supports Sales and Program Management in the areas of manufacturing feasibility, tooling requirements, and standard costing.
- Manages component and assembly design drawings and the release of engineering records to the shop floor for all customer equipment orders.
- Responsible for fostering continuous improvement in performance, quality, and cost.
- Develop, track, and report on department KPI’s.
- Ensures an innovative and creative environment for product engineers to initiate/ implement ideas, VA/VEs, and possible patents.
- Provides for training, personnel enhancements, and staff development to insure a highly efficient and technically competent work force.
- Continuously review department capacity/demand and make resource adjustments as needed.
- Executes processes/procedures/tools to increase department efficiency.
- Develops and implement department policies and standards.
- Manages department budget for headcount, travel, and materials.
- Performs administrative duties such as performance and merit reviews, hiring, etc.
- All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- 10 years of progressive Engineering experience with similar products or technologies.
- BS Engineering or equivalent combination of education/experience/training.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams in successful engineering execution of complex machine systems.
- Passion for learning, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
- General knowledge of manufacturing processes (plastic processing preferred)
- Demonstrated skills to coach for performance.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong machining and metals experience.
Work Environment:
Office / Manufacturing environment. Employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting etc.
This is an office-based position that requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, driving, reading, seeing, hearing, speaking, concentrating, and communicating.
Salary : $130,000 - $140,000
