What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Coordinator position at Unio Healthcare Partners?
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the accurate preparation, distribution, and documentation of multi-state, multi-entity payrolls; responds to and resolves inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting, ensuring payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, local, and federal laws affecting payroll.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls.
- Audit timecards, meal compliance, missing time, benefit deductions, and new hires.
- Process final wages in accordance with state regulations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all pay and personal employee information.
- Maintain payroll records and documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Investigate and resolve payroll inquiries and discrepancies promptly.
- Process wage withholding orders and garnishments.
- Work closely with members of the HR team to ensure seamless communication and processes relating to payroll.
- Other related duties or schedules, including holidays, nights, or weekends, may be assigned based on business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.
- Knowledge of CA Wage and Hour laws.
- Knowledge of general accounting practices.
- Knowledge of wage withholding orders and garnishments.
- Minimum 2 years experience with payroll software, Time & Attendance, and HR and Benefits.
- Paycor experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
- Intermediate-level Excel skills.
