Position: Math Interventionist
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Principal
Purpose: The Math Interventionist primary purpose is to assist in improving academic math achievement for the students in Tier 2 of the Intervention Process by providing research-based intervention practices. The interventionist attends both Tier 1 and Tier 2 intervention meetings and assists in setting goals and determining research-based strategies to improve academic achievement.
Essential Job Function:
Implement support for the students identified through the Intervention Process by providing personalized support based on the goals and the strategies as identified by the Intervention Team by:
Attending Intervention Meetings
Providing instruction to small strategy groups or individual students
Collecting and analyzing data
Communicating with the classroom teacher
Monitoring individual student progress toward yearly growth
Reporting progress to the Intervention Team
Follow Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework and guidelines
Attend staff development and learning opportunities as directed by the principals
Desired training: Degree in Education with current experience in teaching math
