Packaging Specialist
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operates, maintains, installs and completes all required documentation for the equipment under FDA cGMP guidelines and specifications.
- Analyze electrical, instrument, mechanical and operational problems. Takes corrective action to maintain equipment and process equipment. Identifies operating trouble spots, troubleshooting equipment or conditions thoroughly, making recommendations to supervision, and implements changes to achieve efficient operating conditions.
- Performs preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance that include various repairs on equipment.
- Complies with all documentation requirements regarding processing, cGMP and ES&H. All work performed must be in compliance with company guidelines and other federal regulations.
- Develop and revise SOP’s and training modules to train contract personnel.
- Performs in a team based environment, willing to participate in team activities, serve in a line leader role, and be receptive to receiving and giving constructive coaching to their team members and management.
- Makes adjustment of conditions for safe and economical operations. Monitors control board at all times for normal operations, investigates alarms and makes required adjustments. Ensure records are accurate and legible and batch records are completed. Understands and is able to shutdown and startup equipment as required by normal operations and during emergency operations.
- Able to handle change productively and handle other tasks as assigned
- Ensure the Augusta Change Control process is accurately followed.
- Track and publish productivity metrics.
- Champion the implementation of programs and projects within the area.
- Ensure all department policies are being followed by outside contractors and or Union Agener employees working in the packaging department.
Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):
Education:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Electrical/Mechanical Degree preferred
Experience:
- Chemical, Pharmaceutical or related process operations experience with I/E, mechanical or electrical background is desired.
Special Skills:
- Familiar with using a computer, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint.
- Some mechanical knowledge and ability (e.g., knowledge or experience working on pneumatics, sensors, electric motors, belts, grouping chain, gearboxes, and syringe sorter, robotics, and PLC’s
- Some electrical and/or maintenance experience or equivalent training
- Siemens S5/S7 PLC and HMI operational experience
- Qualification to perform required job tasks in packaging area

Physical Demand Requirements:
- Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts.
- Physical Demand Requirements:
o Must be able to perform and review work in a manufacturing plant environment.

Physical ability to lift 40 lb. loads.
