Pension and Tax Services - Trust Operations Specialist 4

Pension Payment Processing – Maintain pension participant changes, timely check and ACH payments, balance monthly ledgers, problem solve for any plan or pensioner issues.
Pension Tax Withholding – Maintain controls and spreadsheet data for federal and state taxes withheld from employee benefit distributions. Maintain file copies of all information relating to deposit amounts.
Quarterly Tax Filing – Process and file all quarterly tax reporting as regulated by the IRS and various states.
Annual Tax Filing – Process and file all annual tax reporting forms (i.e. 1099 series, 5498, 1098 forms). Tax forms are to be mailed to recipients by IRS regulated deadlines. Process electronic transmissions to the IRS and states by the regulated deadlines.
Statements – Generate and monitor all customer statements on a timely basis. Most of this processing is done within the first seven business days of each month; however, situations may occur throughout the month that must be resolved. Requires auto filing of statements into imaging system and distribution of electronic statements. Upload printed statements to the print vendor.
Scanning – Requires a daily commitment of time for scanning documents into the Joshua Imaging System.
Contract for Deeds – Maintain reporting, make timely payments and resolve balancing issues and accurately post transactions related to Contract for Deeds.
Rent Payments – Accurately and timely, make rent payments, balancing cash transactions and maintaining accurate reporting.
Promissory Note Payments - Accurately post and maintain necessary reporting
- Cross train on other trust operations desks in order to support out of office back-up coverage and peak volumes.
- Project related work as assigned by management, tracking progress and making updates utilizing Stety.
Preferred Experience:
- Trust or brokerage operations experience
- Financial services background
- Knowledge of trust accounting software
- Tax filing and servicing background
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Excellent math aptitude, typing, computer and 10-key skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows, and Internet
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping skills
- Self-motivation, and attention to details working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate (orally and in writing)
- Ability to work within a team environment
