We are currently searching for a Government Lending (SBA) Operations Manager to work onsite from our Operations Center in Columbus Grove, OH or from our Westerville, OH location!
The Government Lending Operations Manager reports directly to the Market Leader. Primary responsibility is the management of their SBA commercial loan portfolio. Additionally, they will package loan applications and closing files for the lending department for loans backed with a government credit enhancement. They will be responsible for providing superior customer service and support to internal and external customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
SBA Commercial Loan Portfolio Management:
- Responsible for managing an existing and growing SBA 7a commercial loan portfolio. This includes maintaining credit quality to corporate guidelines, appropriate credit approval being obtained, timely delivery of all required information to Operations for processing, maintaining, building and attracting profitable customer relationships beyond the loan portfolio.
- Analyzes the credit history of applicants and determines their loan repayment capabilities, using loan analysis support and guidelines as per policy.
- Negotiate credit terms, such as costs, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications in accordance with policy.
Governmental Lending Manager Operations:
- Provides operational support staff training for the governmental lending department.
- Shared oversight responsibility for all programs including process development, implementation and ongoing servicing requirements. Ensures regulatory compliant due diligence is present and has been completed on loan requests during management of SBA loan packaging process. Reviews loans to make sure that they are in accordance with Lender’s request, Bank Policy, and regulatory requirements. Help Lender maintain accurate financial information on customers.
- Will act as a liaison with Clients, Loan Servicing, Loan Processing, Asset Management, Loan Review, Credit Analysis, and all third-party suppliers (i.e. legal counsel, appraisers, SBA, etc.). Ensures regulatory compliant SBA loan closing packaging and coordination of loan closings with Title Companies, Customer and Lender when applicable.
- Responsible for regulatory compliant loan disbursements and other various servicing actions.
- Builds customer relationships by handling incoming calls and emails to assure timely response of queries while maintaining an office presence in the absence of the Commercial Lender(s).
- Work with customers and make sure that questions on existing loans and pending requests are answered in a timely manner or directed to the proper department or employee.
- Responsible for regulatory compliant origination and servicing on complex transactions such as commercial & industrial, construction and business acquisition loans.
- Work with Lenders and Loan Assistants to coordinate presentation creation and other administrative duties. Provide direct administrative support for 7a lending originated by the Commercial Lending Team and other duties as may be required.
Customer Service
- Responsible for assuring that customer service is provided in a high-quality manner, as outlined in the Bank’s Strategic Plan.
- Actively involved in community and civic organizations as appropriate to represent the bank in the community.
Special requirements for the position:
- Prefer a four-year degree in business administration.
- Minimum three years' experience in a related field.
- Must have the capacity to work under stress and handle difficult situations.
