What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Auditor position at Union Bank & Trust Company?
Position Summary: The Staff Auditor (Trust Focus) assists with audits and reviews of various bank and trust departments. This professional, through the audit work performed, will make decisions related to proposed audit findings and present those findings to audit management. A detailed review of the related audit work will be performed by an experienced auditor and those findings will be reviewed by audit management after they are presented to bank or trust management.
NOTE: This role is eligible for hybrid work from home opportunity 1 day per week and 4 days in office located in Lincoln, NE under the work from home guidelines upon completion of onboarding.
Essential Functions:
- Assists with audits and reviews of various bank and trust departments and related entities.
- Perform and complete scheduled audit steps independently.
- Work under direct supervision of the Audit Manager.
- Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training and follow internal processes and controls as required.
- Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
- Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field required.
- General knowledge of accounting, with minimum of 6 hours of accounting college coursework preferred.
- Six months to 2 years Trust or Internal Audit experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams, and the ability to work efficiently in other software programs as needed.
- Valid Nebraska Driver’s License.

Working Environment:
