Position Summary: The Agricultural Loan Vice President develops and maintains current knowledge of agricultural loan policy and procedures, various types of agricultural and agribusiness loans, related deposit accounts and other bank products and services. Responsible for the development of new agricultural and agribusiness loan business, the expansion of existing business relationships, and the on-going servicing of customers.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain current knowledge of agricultural loan policy and procedures, various types of agricultural and agribusiness loans, related deposit accounts and other bank products and services.
- Performs credit analysis on loans, including financial worksheets and tax returns, with an emphasis on large and complex loans.
- Promote agricultural and agribusiness related loans, and other bank products and services to prospects and existing customers.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with existing agricultural loan and bank customers.
- Service agricultural and other loan type requests and present to UBT Ag Loan Committee for approval.
- Monitor and collect past due and watch list accounts.
- Accurately assess loan performance and code loans accordingly.
- Keep informed on current knowledge of agriculture industry commodities, insurance industry, farm bills and market conditions.
- Consult with other officers regarding credit quality, risk assessments and department management as needed
- Opportunity to sell crop insurance to new and existing customers.
- Serve on Ag loan committee as requested.
- Ensure subordinates are trained and comply with bank policy, laws and regulations applicable to their roles as well as mentor to less experienced loan officers. Monitor subordinates’ adherence to internal controls and take action to address employee performance issues.
- Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
- Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Business Management, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, or Finance.
- 7 years Agricultural lending experience preferred.
- Valid Nebraska driver’s license with good driving record.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and in working with other bank software.
