Position Summary: The Credit Analyst conducts credit investigations and quantitative analysis of financial statements to determine overall credit worthiness, level of financial strength and repayment ability. Interacts with loan officers and borrowers (if necessary) to acquire necessary information to assist with the written summary.

Essential Functions
- Conduct credit investigations and quantitative analysis of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and ratios) as it pertains to existing loan customers and new loan prospects to determine financial risks, repayment ability, and provide and assess overall risks for decision makers.
- Interact with loan officers and borrowers (if necessary) to acquire necessary information to complete a credit analysis.
- Prepare analysis and assist in the preparation of credit presentations for loan officers, for the benefit of senior credit personnel and loan committee.
- Present findings to loan committee and responds to any questions or concerns voiced by committee members.
- Serve as a backup to the Appraisal Analyst. These duties include preparing internal evaluations of real estate collateral, engaging and reviewing external real estate appraisals.
- Identify industry resources and conducts industry comparisons as it relates to a particular business to provide additional risk assessment.
- Identify problems in credit trends and recommend enhancements to loan terms, conditions and controls.
- Provide monitoring on large, more complex, problem and specialized credits.
- Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
- Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
- Performs other job related duties or special projects as assigned by the Credit Department Manager or Chief Credit Officer.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years lending experience preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with financial spreading software preferred but not required.
