The Academic Advisor/Tutor Coordinator of AOP/HEOP helps provide leadership and administrative support for two opportunity programs that have existed at the College since 1969. Duties include: providing academic advising for a caseload of approximately 50 students; management of the AOP Tutoring Program; management of peer mentoring program (PAL); assisting with the implementation of the five week AOP/HEOP Summer Program, and assisting with required HEOP reports and assessment efforts.
▪ Student Advising. Provide advising services for a caseload of approximately 50 students. This includes social, career, financial, and academic advising.
▪ Reporting. Assist with required reporting for bi-annual HEOP reports to the New York State Education Department. This includes documentation of advising services provided as well as student performance and achievement.
▪ AOP/HEOP Summer Program. Assist the Director with the planning and implementation of the five week AOP/HEOP Summer Program for approximately 30 incoming AOP/HEOP students. This can include hiring summer faculty and staff, providing staff training, collecting student data, compiling the schedule, arranging presentations and workshops, organizing weekend activities, and being on-call for emergencies.

- Coordinate events and workshops for AOP/HEOP students. In collaboration with other AOP/HEOP staff, identify desired events, workshops, and information to provide for students and help facilitate their implementation.
