Position Title: Assistant Men's Soccer Coach
Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, Temporary
Supervisor: Head Men’s Soccer Coach
Position purpose: Supports the Head Coach in all aspects of running a competitive collegiate soccer program. This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting, training, mentoring student-athletes, and administrative duties. Helps foster an environment that promotes the physical, mental, and academic growth of the players.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coaching and Player Development: Assists in planning and conducting practice sessions. Provides individual and group instruction focused on skill development and team strategy during games, practice, and training sessions. In partnership with the Interim Head Coach evaluates player performance and provides feedback.
- Administration: Assists in organizing and managing team logistics, including travel arrangements and equipment. Provides support in the developing and implementing game strategies. Fosters a positive and inclusive team environment.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in coaching and playing soccer, preferably at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
- Possess solid organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Understanding of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends is required.
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 30 lbs.) and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
- A valid New York State driver’s license is required.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- The ability to foster and enhance a thriving, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues.
Compensation:
The rate for this position is $15.50 an hour. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
