Qualifications
JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Support Staff (CSS) Trainer is responsible for the coordination of staff training and competency assessment as well as the documentation and tracking of these activities.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES
1. Coordinates with site leadership, and care teams to provide new hire training and coordination of annual competencies for medical assistants (MA), and licensed practical nurses (LPN).
2. Leads clinical orientation and onboarding for new support staff and fosters an environment that promotes team-based care.
3. Manages clinical ladder program evaluating applications to ensure appropriate skill demonstration prior to promotion.
4. Provides training on electronic medical record workflows and documentation, as well as use of population health management tool.
5. Develops training curriculum, training videos and SOPs and competency assessments for CSS.
6. Participates and contributes to the development of standard work to promote an environment of empowering CSS to work to the top of their licensure, certification, and training.
7. Works closely with preceptors and site leadership to evaluate new hire progress and identify additional training needs.
8. Ensures adequate training for preceptors and coaches.
9. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from a Medical Assistant program, with Certification or Licensed Practical Nurse Program, with valid license
Minimum of 5 years or more of relevant experience in an ambulatory setting
Current CPR certification
English proficiency required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
In order to fulfill the requirements of this position, duties 1- 9 are considered essential functions of the job.
ORGANIZATIONAL INVOLVEMENT
This position is required to participate in mandatory all staff meetings, team meetings and trainings.
