What are the responsibilities and job description for the EC-OCS Job Coach position at Union County Public Schools?
Job Description: Provides vocational support and instruction to students with disabilities within the school environment and in workplace environments within the community. A wide variety of tasks are performed to support the teacher and students in work environments. The work is directed by specific instructions, precedents, and established policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Obtain an accurate and comprehensive observation of student interests and aptitudes by utilizing vocational assessment reports, work experience observations and individual interviews.
2. Provide assistance in the development and implementation of Community Based Vocational Training and School Based Vocational Training.
3. Perform task analysis of jobs assigned to students and learn to perform the job as specified by standards.
4. Train and coach the student to do the job as appropriate for employer standards and continue to monitor the student's performance as it evolves to normal job standards.
5. Monitor students' performance in Community Based Sites and School Based Vocational Training.
6. Assist students in resolving job related conflicts and maintain appropriate documentation.
7. Develop collaborative relationships with Community Based job sites and adult service providers.
8. Ensure all applicable state and federal regulations are observed.
9. Provide input or participate in IEP Team Meeting to assist in identifying student transition needs.
10. Acquire a CDL (if required) to support and provide transportation to job sites.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
1. Associates Degree / 2-Year Degree
2. Possession of an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities for the position.
3. Valid Driver's License and personal vehicle/transportation.
