What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor position at Union County?
Works with the Facilities Manager to determine goals and objectives for the division; develops and maintains a monitoring method to ensure team effectiveness and success.
Ensures employees maintain the necessary level of training and/or certification to perform position responsibilities.
Ensures systems are maintained and operated in accordance with state/EPA and safety (OSHA) guidelines and specifications.
Participates in the development and administration of the division's budget; forecasts funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; monitors expenditures; prepares bid specifications for equipment and supplies.
Monitors and evaluates the efficiency, effectiveness, and responsiveness of operational methods and procedures involving maintenance, repair, and construction programs; reviews service and staffing levels of work orders.
Responsible for contract administration and inspection of maintenance projects.
Checks subordinates work for thoroughness; coordinates work with other divisions, departments, outside agencies and/or organizations.
Reviews capital improvements and construction plans, provides input related to future maintenance activities; makes technical changes as necessary.
Provides management and oversight of maintenance service contract administration.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree from an accredited university, and five (5) years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses or Certifications:
Must have a valid Driver's License and maintain a safe driving history as defined by the Union County Vehicle Use Policy.
CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
Special Requirements:
Must be able to work flexible hours and weekend rotations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires the ability to maintain body equilibrium when bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, reaching and/or stretching arms, legs or other parts of body to grasp, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical requirements are for Heavy Work.
