What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Management Coordinator position at Union County?
Installs, maintains, programs and operates security systems including closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance systems, alarm systems, access control, panic buttons, servers, recording hardware and other physical security technology. Performs minor maintenance on equipment requiring the use of power tools and low voltage equipment.
Refines, implements, and carries out physical security policies, procedures, guidelines, standards, and methodologies to ensure compliance.
Writes and periodically updates policies and procedures for secure facility management, access control, security surveillance, environmental controls, facility layout and design, fixed asset inventory, alarm responses, server and computer management, troubleshooting software, and help desk support for other users in the counting utilizing physical security systems etc.
Develops and refines awareness and outreach material for all employees, focused on physical security and personal safety concerns.
Support sensitive investigation efforts, working closely with Law Enforcement, Human Resources, the County Attorney’s Office, and others as needed.
Offers advice and counsel about the ways Union County should best protect itself against a variety of natural and man-made physical security risks.
Researches the latest developments in physical security, employee safety, and executive protection. Recommends physical-security-related management strategies to benefit Union County, its critical infrastructure, or its staff.
Ensures all physical security systems are managed and used in accordance with local, state, and Federal laws while meeting strict standards in medical (HIPAA), security, privacy and sensitive material management and handling.
Skilled in Database Software, programming servers, software, integration and data collection as well as integration with other 3rd party software for badges, printers, analytics, and AI software and capabilities
Supports all new construction, major and minor renovations from conception, through design, to installation and signing off at completion. Is able to read and work blueprints and network schematics to support security design and implementation.
Works with the Union County Sheriff’s Office and other Law Enforcement agencies, as well as department directors and Federal, State, and Local agencies. Builds and maintains professional relationships.
Manages the operational and capital security budgets, assists with financial analysis and forecasting, as well as being responsible for contracts, and works closely with vendors.
Writes, implements, and manages security related grants.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree in Security, Criminal Justice or a related field, and 4 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses or Certifications:
Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to maintain a safe driving history as defined by the Union County Vehicle Use Policy.
Special Requirements:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe.
Knowledge of Physical Security Policies, Laws, Ordinances, and Professional Standards.
Knowledge of technical manuals for management and maintenance of computer servers and systems as well as camera and access control equipment and software.
Knowledge and understanding of Blueprints, Construction documents and contracts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Security, Criminal Justice or a related field, and 4 years of related experience with low voltage equipment and tools, servers, computers, IT Network, Circuit Boards, electrified door locks, camera systems, security badge printers, and related software, security software such as Honeywell’s Win-Pak, Johnson Control’s ExacqVision, and Genetec, and/or Axis and Hanwha Cameras and HID Security Card Technology.
Licenses or Certifications:
Physical Security Professional (PSP)
Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
Special Requirements:
Experience with VEOCI software
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment like telephone, calculator, electrical diagram, and other electrical tools. Must be physically able to operate a truck. Must be physical able to use hand tools, to climb, and to lift. Also required to walk to and though job sites, excavations and construction.
