Lower School Art Teacher (2025-26)

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that execute the knowledge and love of art, drawing and painting;
- Create a positive, nurturing classroom atmosphere.
- Plan and coordinate art shows and exhibits;
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate art education into planned academic instruction;
- Assess and monitor student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student success.
- Participate in school events and extracurricular activities.
- Establish a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Develop routines and procedures to maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming art classroom.
- Promote respect for artistic expression, materials, and student work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- NC Teaching certification (preferred).
- Previous teaching experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Passion for teaching and commitment to student development.
- Knowledge and background related to the NC Standard Course of Study (NCSCOS).

Compensation:
- Based upon experience, degree/certification, NC State Salary Guide and the Union County Licensed Teacher Supplement.
