Position Description: The Marketing Coordinator works under the instruction of the marketing director by managing project workflows and collaborating with the team in the planning and execution of campaigns, events, and media production. Serving as a key liaison between the marketing team and other departments, this role maintains strong internal connections, keeps projects on track, streamlines processes, and ensures marketing initiatives effectively support both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Essential Job Functions:
Key Result Area #1: Marketing & Communication Strategy Support
- Collaborate and brainstorm with the team to develop marketing plans and fundraising strategies for the organization, particularly with regard to visual representation of the brand.
- Assist team in a unified understanding of the target audience, personas, and key organizational relationships.
- Refine and advocate for the organization’s brand integrity and communication standards.
- Generate/identify brand messages and their strategic implementation to expand UGM’s donor base and increase the quality of our existing donors’ experience.
- Strategize with the team to determine the overall scope of projects.
- Cultivate relationships throughout the ministry to develop meaningful, effective communications, and bridge the connection between the organization and our audiences.
Key Result Area #2: Project Planning and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build strong working relationships with other departments to help develop team understanding of their marketing and communication needs.
- Help organize and support the implementation of marketing team projects.
- Assist in project documentation, notes, and task follow-up.
- Help departments navigate Marketing team processes while maintaining consistency with brand standards.
- Coordinate with residents, staff, and others featured in marketing projects to ensure informed, comfortable participation through clear communication, respect for privacy, and signed media releases.
- Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to ensure a strong, consistent user experience across all facilities and channels.
Key Result Area #3: Media & Content Development Assistance
- Assist in gathering content for social media and publications at various locations.
- Assist with photography, interviewing, and filming production as needed for social media and various projects,
- Coordinate logistics, timelines, and various department involvement for events and campaigns
- Maintain knowledge of current industry best practices, trends, and relevant software developments.
- Help maintain systems for storing files, team asset management, and processes.
- Be willing to cross-train in various areas of the marketing team
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Committed Christian, interested in being part of a ministry for the poor, homeless, drug addicted and mentally ill. Grounded in the Christian faith as a mature, active member of the body of Christ. In accordance with Union Gospel Mission Statement of Purpose, Statement of Vision and Statement of Faith.
- Experience marketing and communications and/or fundraising
- Strong communication skills - verbal, written, and visual arts.
- Strong Interpersonal skills - exercise compassion and discernment while modeling the teachings of Jesus Christ.
- Able and willing to honor the leadership, chain of command, standards and ministry objectives of Union Gospel Mission.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); able to complete documents, and accurately record information. Willing to continue education as needed or required.
- Experience with Adobe design software, professional Canon Cameras, and Apple computers preferred.
- Must have a teachable spirit and the ability to multi-task, listen, and make sound decisions in alignment with UGM’s purpose.
- Minimum four years of sobriety, if in recovery.
- Insightful, trustworthy, honest, reliable, model appropriate boundaries, and strong work ethic.
- Criminal background check clearance – required.

- Work is primarily indoors and may require sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and going from building to building - Continuously.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
AA or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design or 3 years related experience. (We will consider someone with a strong portfolio and a combination of experience and education.)
