SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Resource Coordinator serves as a primary contact for non-monetary donations through scheduling, policy implementation, and facilitating communication for requests of donated resources. This individual also provides administrative assistance to the Regional Thrift Store Manager.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Result Area #1: Customer Service & Donor Relations
- Maintain UGM’s culture and core values; adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
- Respond to donation related inquiries promptly.
- Recruit volunteers to assist with administrative duties.
- Monitor quality of customer service and the timeliness of pick-up services provided by drivers.
- Handle customer complaints tactfully and document specific information; answer questions and offer solutions.
- Participate in and be knowledgeable of the Outcome Based Management Process, i.e., SWOTS, SMART goals and one-on-one’s.
- Remain up to date on Gift in-Kind donations guidelines; continually inform staff and donors of changes.
Key Result Area #2: Resource Coordination
- Implement donation guidelines; utilize drivers as resources for monitoring said guidelines.
- Develop a daily pick-up schedule for drivers; provide clear directions and necessary details.
- Include inter-company donation requests and deliveries in the schedule when necessary.
- Coordinate solicitation campaigns, i.e. food drives; schedule pick-ups promptly as requested by the donor.
Key Result Area #3: Administration
- Monitor and maintain accurate record announcements at each location; make changes as necessary.
- Maintain current records for GIK donors and provide the Development Department with merge records.
- Track solicitation campaign variables.
- Ensure all donation guidelines and procedures are in writing and easily accessible.
- Document end of day odometer readings, and each vehicles number of pick-ups and inter- ministry stops for maintenance scheduling purposes.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grounded and committed Christian: able and willing to model servant-leadership and interested in being part of a ministry to the poor, homeless, drug addicted and mentally ill.
- Active member of the body of Christ, in accordance with the Union Gospel Mission Statement of Purpose, Statement of Vision and Statement of Faith.
- Strong Interpersonal skills - exercise compassion and discernment while modeling the teachings of Jesus Christ.
- Able and willing to honor the leadership, chain of command, standards and ministry objectives of Union Gospel Mission.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook); able to complete documents, build tables, and accurately record information. Willing to continue education as needed or required.
- Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and instructional.
- Must have a teachable spirit and the ability to manage multiple task at the same time. Be able to listen, and make sound decisions in alignment with UGM’s purpose.
- Insightful, trustworthy, honest, reliable, model appropriate boundaries, and strong work ethic.
- Criminal background check clearance – required.

- Work is primarily indoors and requires sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and going from building to building - continuously.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED and six months to a year of related experience and/or training.
