Data Abstractor/Assistant Details
Essential Job Duties:
- Communicates effectively with all members of the patient care team.
- Demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and dependability in relationships with co-workers.
- Acts as a patient advocate.
- Enter information into appropriate systems.
- Preparation and support for hospital committee meetings (minutes, logs, and filing).
- Maintains information accurately for department binder system and filing.
- Participate in organization PI as directed.
- Effectively identifies cases to be screened for various indicators taking into consideration the requirements of external agencies.
- Compiles data according to established format.
- Sends accurate data to external agencies by the established deadlines.
- Develops presentations that are well organized, concise, and tailored to the audience.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in data abstracting and/or coding in a medical office or hospital.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in computer data entry and word processing.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ current experience with various computer programs required.
