Senior Cerner Analyst Details
Essential Job Duties:
- Assists in the development, maintenance, and support of Cerner systems for the area of responsibility.
- Provide/leads evaluations of IT updates and revisions establishes priorities and plans for release schedules.
- Provides support for day-to-day production issues maintaining documentation in the appropriate tracking systems while adhering to prescribed escalation & change control procedures. May include on call rotation.
- Uses EHR experience to benefit the build, support, and optimization of the EHR application assigned.
- Works closely with Applications Analysts, departments, and technical teams to create and maintain appropriate application and workflow documentation.
- Performs Application/Systems support.
- Maintains relationship with vendors of hospital applications to understand current and future features and functionality and product life cycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Science, Computer Science, Informatics or Clinical related field required.
- Ten years' experience with healthcare IT applications and knowledge of healthcare environment and system configuration preferred.
- Extensive understanding of clinical operations and workflows within a healthcare system desired.
- Experience with healthcare IT applications and knowledge of healthcare environment and system configuration preferred.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) necessary to communicate effectively with associates at all levels.
- Must have analytic skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexible work schedule to meet department needs. May be on call.
- Certification and/or demonstrated experience with any of the following Cerner Modules:
- HIM
- Core
- PathNet
- RadNet
- PowerChart
- PharmNet
- Powerplans
- Orders
- Powerforms
- mPages
- SurgiNet
- FirstNet
- Understands CCL, rules, and other aspects in which it is used in EMR
