This role is responsible for providing prompt and accurate responses to tax servicing inquiries for internal and external customers. This candidate must be above average in professional written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will work directly with Tax Authorities, UHM Tax Vendors, Mortgage loan customers, Loan Officers, Investors for whom UHM Services loans and UHM Partners within the organization across all U.S. states in which UHM originates and/or purchases home loan servicing rights.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Escrow Tax Servicing Specialist will communicate regularly with borrowers to resolve inquiries related to the servicing of their loans
- Perform payment to tax authorities to Complete tax escrow set-up for new or transferred escrow accounts
- Professionally communicate with tax authorities, UHM Tax Vendor Corelogic,
- Reconcile discrepancies on loan level issues from multiple intake/ingestion points of service as they are identified
- Document full accounting for all loan level adjustments within the servicing system and other media used to communicate with customers and partners
- Record losses if any due to errors in the origination, closing, on-boarding to servicing platform, and human error issues while servicing loans
- Identify root causes of issues that resulted in a UHM financial loss
- Identify and report issues that result in sub-standard Customer Experience
- Ensure customer satisfaction for issues presented within the confines of company policy and procedures
- Document, support, and resolve issues relating to deficiencies of Federal or State Compliance matters by partnering with UHM Compliance Partners
- Verify that escrow analysis impacted accounts are corrected to ensure proper required reserves to pay escrowed items when they become due
- Adhere to Company policies around processing tax payment transactions that impact borrower escrow accounts where payments are not collected or reserved at the close of the loan
- Audit exception tax payment requests to accurately identify uncollected escrowed items and report root causes of issues to management using company tracking media
- Ensure all Taxes are paid within the discount period if feasible, and no later than the Economic Loss Date as identified by the taxing authority
- Diligently complete exception reports that are not processed through the automated tax payment servicing system to vendor modules.
- Perform analysis, resolve service tickets, and document results according to required tax department rules.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Mortgage Servicing experience is preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Will consider experience in the areas of insurance agency, tax agency, banking service related to mortgage loans, origination of mortgage loans, loan processors, underwriters, loan closers, compliance, audit roles and title company processors.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn and efficiently work within the systems utilized by UHM to service loans to each end process required to meet service level metrics identified and/or modified as needed to remain compliant, efficient, and to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
