Scheduling Secretary Details
Essential Job Duties :
- Consults with the Surgical Services Scheduling Supervisor regarding priorities and activities of the unit.
- Answers telephone, relays messages to appropriate person by posting messages, transferring to portable phones or voice mail.
- Functions as liaison for communications between office and O.R.
- Performs scheduling of surgical cases accurately, while meeting the needs of the providers and coordinating with the surgery schedule and availability of anesthesia.
- Keeps surgery schedule up to date in Cerner System at all times.
Education, Training, and Experience :
- Excellent English and reading skills required.
- Excellent keyboard skills preferred.
- Functional or working knowledge of computers Preferred.
- Previous Scheduler or Unit Secretary experience desirable.
