Union Jack Pub—Broad Ripple Westfield is currently interviewing professional bartenders/servers. As a bartender/server, you must be friendly, outgoing, and possess good communication skills. A guest’s dinner and/or bar experience should be equally enjoyable and you play a major role in the overall picture. Remember, consistency is a key element in a positive experience. We achieve this by always following recipes. Your individual personality should shine through—use it to your advantage. Bartender/Server—Essential Functions
· Must be able to pass the Indiana Alcohol Test
· Welcome each guest personally within 30 seconds.
· Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone, and body language at all times. Make guests feel appreciated through your actions.
· Work as a team with all Union Jack Pub personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
· Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked to Union Jack Pub’s standards at all times.
· Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of the bar and dining room following standard recipes.
· Ring drink orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests for drinks/food served, and make change.
· Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in agreement with UJP standards.
· Wash and sterilize glassware.
· Be attentive! Offer your assistance before the guest has to ask for it.
· Count drinks guests are served.
· Anticipate your guest’s needs. Follow the half-full rule when offering another drink. Be alert of guest signals (raising a hand, looking directly at you, etc) and acknowledge the guest so they know you will be right with them.
· Learn your guest’s names, occupations, and favorite drinks. This will make UJP a special place for them.
· Responsible service of alcohol. Should a guest reach the state you do not feel they should drive, we will supply a safe ride option. Do not hesitate to ask for management intervention if necessary.
· Take serving shifts as needed:
o Possess proficient knowledge of the menu to explain our offerings (both food and alcohol) to the Guests
§ Inform Guests of current food promotions and specials
§ Answer questions
o Accurately enter food and beverage orders into POS quickly and prior to serving
o Serves food and beverages to Guests in a timely manner, which includes retrieving food orders from the kitchen and transporting them to the Guests in the servers’ section as well as for any other section in the restaurant
o Follow alcohol awareness procedures for identifying age, preventing intoxication, and dealing with intoxicated Guest and adheres to all company related alcohol policies
o Maintains table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, removing clutter, and providing adequate napkins
o Performs shift change and/or opening or closing duties
· Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
· Assists other Team Members as needed
· Portrays a favorable image of Union Jack Pub—Broad Ripple Westfield at all times

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
