Description : Overview :
The Assistant Director is responsible for running the camper experience on camp. They supervise the leadership team and keep programs running safely. They are the point of contact during an emergency.
Specific Duties :
General Camp Tasks
Follow all camp rules and ensure that staff and campers are as well.
Abide by Personnel Policies & Procedures of the ULBGC Camp.
Follow all State of Wisconsin, American Camp Association, and other certifying body guidelines.
Trainings and meetings
Attend staff training before camp starts.
Attend meetings before each session starts.
Work with the Camp Director to plan skills to improve on while working at camp.
Check in with the Camp Director regularly.
Supervisory
Ensure that all staff are completing their Job Description and are following the hierarchy appropriately and safely.
Check in daily with leadership team
Check in regularly with all staff
Complete a midsummer and end of summer evaluation for all staff who report to them and help the leadership team evaluate their staff
Assistant Director Specific Tasks
Ensure that campers are properly supervised.
Ensure that campers always have safe, fun, and intentional activities to participate in.
Ensure that the camp facility is safe and clean at all times.
Ensure that all camp staff have the information needed to be able to complete their jobs appropriately.
Ensure that all campers have the information needed to be prepared for their activities
Ensure that all staff have appropriate plan B’s to account for mishaps, weather, and supply issues.
Ensure that all staff have the supplies needed to do their job effectively.
Work with the Camp Director to plan or delegate planning for the evening programs.
Facilitate or delegate facilitating evening programs.
Be present on main camp to observe activities and staff throughout the day.
Report facility issues to the Property Manager in a timely manner
Complete paperwork such as incident reports, grant reporting, and more as assigned by the Camp Director and Office Manager.
Complete other tasks as assigned

Must be at least 25 years old
Must have a desire to work with youth
CPR Certified Preferred
Passion to provide a positive camp experience to everyone who comes to camp
Good health and a physical condition suited for outdoor work and long hours
Must have experience planning and leading activities
Must live on camp in while camp is in session
Must have experience leading peers and coaching staff
