What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loader position at Union Metal Industries?
Job Description:
Load finished product on to semi trailers to ship to customers
Job Duties:
- Get list of orders from shipping office
- Have the material brought to shipping area
- Perform Daily crane inspection and operate remote control crane
- Load material on to trailer bed (use crane)
- May work from heights
- May have to set up trailer bed, cut the wood, use nail gun or air nailer, and prepare the material for shipping
- Make sure all material is secure to trailer bed
- Clean area at the end of shift
- Place chains around shipping dock
- Put fall protection equipment away at end of shift
- Job duties are subject to change
Tools Required:
Fall protection, hammer, Remote control crane, drill, saw, rivnut gun, air nailer, any other tools needed for the job
Physical Qualifications:
Must be able to lift/push/pull/bend up to 50 lbs
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb and walk for extended periods of time
Must be able to work in all types of temperatures
Must have some computer skills
Must have Fall protection training
PPE Requirements:
Ear Protection, Steel toe shoes, Safety Glasses and/or goggles, Hard Hat, Fall protection PPE, Gloves to fit the job, Safety Vest when working in the yard. Rain Gear.
