What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Associate position at Union Mission Ministries, Inc.?
Purpose: To provide general supervision and support to residential residents who are being treated for alcohol, substance abuse, codependency and addictive lifestyles.
Duties
- To interact with residents in an approachable, empathetic, supportive, and respectful manner.
- To transport residents in a safe manner to meetings, activities, and appointments
- To interact with residents and their families while maintaining boundaries
- To lead residents in daily devotions
- To oversee residents’ participation in daily activities including wake-up, chores, laundry, care of personal space, care of personal hygiene, time management, use of down-time, bedtime and other activities involving living skills.
- To work cohesively with the Addiction Recovery Coordinator and team members.
- To report any unusual, suspicious, or potentially harmful behavior to Coordinator
- To maintain an attitude of positivity and a policy of de-escalation in all situations
- To maintain an awareness of residents’ location and in what activities they are participating in.
- To assess each resident’s situation/needs with Recovery Coordinator.
- To concisely document residents’ daily activities in Teams
- To maintain proper files through the segregating of medical files and case log notes.
- To maintain safety, security and confidentiality of the Addiction Recovery Campus, Residents, and resident records.
- To participate in mandatory job training from Recovery Director, Coordinator and Human Resources.
- To represent Union Mission Ministries, Inc., staff, and administrative team in a positive way
- To complete all tasks as assigned by the Recovery Coordinator and the Director of Recoveries.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Leadership skills.
- Strong verbal, communication, written and problem-solving skills are a must, and should be precise and detailed when deemed necessary.
- One year of experience performing the duties noted above or equivalent.
- Experience in successfully walking through crisis or tragedy with others.
- Ability to work in a multi-denominational setting with ease as we share the Gospel.
- Ability to pass criminal background and DMV Checks.
- Must have a valid West Virginia driver’s license and clean DMV record.
- Office 365 proficient while keeping good track of client records, client intake, client notes and house documents.
- Experience in addiction recovery preferred.
Credentials and Experience:
- At least 3 years supervisory experience; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the responsibilities.
