What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Claims Adjuster position at Union Mutual Fire Insurance Company?
Union Mutual is looking for a professional and experienced Auto Property Damage Claims Adjuster to join our dynamic team of Claims professionals based in our Montpelier, Vermont office. The Company will consider remote or hybrid work arrangements, however, travel quarterly (or as needed for training) to the Company’s office in Montpelier, Vermont will be required.
Duties include reviewing policies to confirm coverage, helping customers understand their coverages, investigating accidents including but not limited to interviewing drivers and witnesses, reviewing appraisals/estimates and police reports to determine liability, coordinating and managing repairs and rentals, assisting customers through the claims process, negotiating with other insurance companies or claimants to settle claims. Position involves primarily telephone adjusting in an office or home office setting.

Job Requirements: Must have a current adjuster’s license in Vermont and other states, and the ideal candidate will have three or more years of experience adjusting auto claims. An associate degree or higher, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, negotiation skills, ability to manage multiple claims and a high level of critical thinking and judgement required.
Salary : $50,000 - $65,200
