About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused signal system technician to join our engineering team. In this critical role, you will play a key part in ensuring the efficiency and safety of our railroad operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of signal circuitry, equipment, and systems to identify and address problems and defects.
- Perform comprehensive testing of signal circuitry, equipment, and systems in accordance with FRA reporting requirements.
- Utilize troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve malfunctions in signal circuitry, equipment, and systems.
- Assemble and disassemble signal crossing warning device equipment as needed.
- Carry out maintenance, repair, and replacement tasks for signal communication circuitry, systems, and components.
- Efficiently plan, organize, and track information and activities related to signal circuitry and equipment, while providing guidance to team members.
Requirements:
- Possession of an Associate's degree or higher in electrical engineering or electronic technology.
- Completion of a recognized formal electrical training program.
- Previous experience working in a variety of shifts, including overtime, holidays, and weekends.
- Willingness to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
- Proficiency in operating construction equipment, including backhoes, trenchers, cranes, and other relevant machinery.
Work Environment:
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to various weather conditions. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on the job site.
