Union Rescue Mission (URM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. POSITION SUMMARY: The Gifts-in-Kind (GIK) Coordinator is primarily responsible for maintaining current donors, cultivating new gifts-in-kind donors, overseeing inventory of all in-kind items, and coordinating incoming and outgoing in-kind items at Distribution Center. GIK Coordinator must be able to drive URM trucks and assist with delivering products to stores, when needed.

GIFTS-IN-KIND COORDINATOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Cultivate donor relationships by various methods such as calls, visits, personal tours and keeping them informed on needs for programs at Union Rescue Mission (URM)
- Acquire and cultivate new relationships by cold calling based on URM needs.
- Communicate with various departments throughout URM to identify their GIK needs.
- Assist in securing items for major URM events.
- Coordinate donation pickups with donors and transportation department.
- Track GIK donor activity by maintaining detailed records in database and inputting data accurately.
- Help pick up and transport donations when needed.
- Track inventory, generate reports and maintain accurate counts of in-kind donations at Distribution Center (DC).
- Prepare in-kind items for distribution, including labeling, pulling products, and palletizing items.
- Check inventory for all staff in-kind requests before purchases are made.
- Assists in organization of in-kind items at DC, keeping storage area clean and orderly.
- Oversee URM Outreach Program; identify excess in-kind items, contact partners, and schedule pick-ups.
- Coordinating product movement to/from Thrift Stores.
- Able to load and deliver products to the thrift stores when needed, using the URM trucks.
- Conduct other tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of Procurement & Logistics.

- The office is clean, orderly, properly lit, and ventilated.
- Noise levels are considered low to moderate.
- This position works (predominantly) indoors, however, the work area will vary due to offsite donor visits, and offsite events.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURES
- Must have a high school diploma. Vocational or college courses, a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean DMV record, and ability to be on the company’s insurance policy.
- Must be certified to operate forklift (or obtain certification within 90 days)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in Salesforce.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Must be highly organized and be able to work independently.
- Ability to compute and enter data accurately.
- Ability to multi-task and work well with various departments.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack
