What are the responsibilities and job description for the AVP Credit Officer - Danbury position at Union Savings Bank - CT?
The Credit Officer will analyze individual/business entities for credit extension, and management reports; apprise peers of potential bank and regulatory policy violations. This position holds an Assistant Vice President title.
Underwriting & Analysis
Evaluate the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for credit. Prepare financial spreadsheets and perform credit inquiries as needed. Document and analyze internal information, and external data provided by customers, accountants, appraisers, environmental consultants, credit bureaus, and other financial institutions. Prepare underwriting memorandums, present facts, and offer opinions regarding the credit worthiness of commercial customers to loan officers and management. Provide technical assistance to loan officers and customers relating to credit requirements.
The position also requires performing line renewals and relationship reviews as assigned.
Risk Evaluation
Maintain a thorough understanding of all applicable USB lending policies in order to properly assess risk and assign a risk rating during the new loan due diligence process, and reaffirm/recommend risk ratings on existing credits during the loan review/renewal function. Attend credit and lending seminars in order to enhance knowledge and skills required to insure that credit quality is not compromised and risks are minimized.
Recommends policy changes to the department head or designate, if deemed appropriate.
Business Banking Credit Analysis Backup
Perform all required duties of the Business Banking Credit Analysis in the event that the primary analyst is unavailable, including financial statement spreading, credit analysis, and approval recommendation
