What are the responsibilities and job description for the AmeriCorps Director position at Union-Snyder Community Action Agency?
Job Summary: The Director is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and managing programmatic and fiscal components of CAA’s AmeriCorps program, CORE Susquehanna, in conjunction with CAA administrative staff. This position also requires supervision of AmeriCorps staff to include the AmeriCorps Member Coordinator. The Director facilitates the AmeriCorps Program Management Team process keeping in mind that program management decisions are made and carried out through a teamwork process.
Responsibilities
Program Management:
1. Responsible for Host Site Management & Supervision: developing, training, monitoring, liaison, and oversight. Work with the Coordinator to ensure effective host site supervision.
2. Monitor Member Supervision. (Supervision provided by Coordinator)
3. Work with Coordinator in managing Member training, convenings, and service projects.
4. Serve as liaison with the state office and federal AmeriCorps offices.
5. Oversight of host site and member recordkeeping and general management through site visits.
6. Manage evaluation component of project: pre and post assessments for objectives and overall project/member evaluations.
7. Prepare and submit required programmatic reports in conjunction with AmeriCorps staff.
8. Manage CORE public relations efforts.
Fiscal Management:
1. Manage the in-kind tracking and reporting system for host sites. Collects and collates data concerning in-kind support for host sites and other community organizations.
2. Monitor and manage AmeriCorps budget and member stipend reimbursement system in conjunction with the USCAA Fiscal Officer. This includes host site fiscal responsibilities and in-kind reporting.
3. Prepare and submit required fiscal reports in conjunction with the Fiscal Officer.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in management, community service or related discipline.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in management is preferred; preference given to non-profit.
• Proven effectiveness in management and supervision.
• Excellent oral, written, listening, and communication skills required.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite and utilizing online applications.
• Ability to identify and meet goals, objectives, outcomes and timelines; able to work independently.
• An effective communicator with excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to establish and maintain working relationships with all levels of staff, public and private funding and reporting entities, local governmental and community members.
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to CAA’s mission.
• Criminal Background History and Child Abuse Clearances plus PA Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
