Qualifications & Educational Requirements

The selected individual will have experience in the field of construction, project management, youth and family outreach, natural resources management, and the Union community. The Conservation Coordinator is an integral part of delivering the mission of the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance. - Demonstrates successful experience in project planning and execution.
- Experience building successful collaborative relationships for project delivery
- Understanding of Unions/Labor preferred
- Construction management experience and a proven track record are preferred.
- Experience in general construction principles
- Ability to plan, supervise and ensure the completion of a variety of infrastructure projects in partnership with union volunteers, outside agencies and other conservation groups.
- Ability to lead, organize and motivate large groups of project volunteers.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with peers and employees.
- Exceptional organizational skills – including the ability to track projects, youth events and programs.
- Superior interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to complete deliverables and interact successfully with minimal oversight.
- The ability to provide pertinent information both verbally and in written form for public relations purposes and promotion of conservation programs with the Communications Team.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to travel frequently, including weekends (up to 100 days). This job requires frequent travel
- Valid Driver's License and dependable transportation required
Job Description & Physical Demands
The Conservation Coordinator facilitates the organization’s conservation programs, including but not limited to identifying, organizing, and executing conservation projects, and outreach events. In addition to executing conservation project deliverables and outreach programs, this position will require market-based relationship building, partnership development, and volunteer recruitment. All projects and events will require union labor engagement as the primary volunteer work force. This position requires on-site supervision of projects and youth events at locations across the country.
- Oversee and execute the USA’s Work Boots on the Ground program infrastructure projects, youth outreach and dedication events.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of relationships with union leadership, key volunteers, government agencies, NGO’s, and other organizations within assigned USA markets.
- Create and track conservation activities in USA’s database program, Salesforce.
- Facilitates the procurement of conservation materials, outreach supplies, including building supplies and equipment for specific projects and events in the market.
- Identify, motivate and organize project volunteers.
- Attend (as needed) site visits, volunteer workdays, dedications, outreach events.
- Submit/track VIK received towards projects and outreach events.
- Ensure assigned conservation projects, outreach events, and dedication events are completed within scope, with satisfactory quality, on time, and on budget
- Create/review conservation-based press releases, workday/event flyers, banners, plaques, signage, and other media.
- Successfully communicate and coordinate with other internal departments to fulfill needs of projects, events, and delivery of joint organizational objectives.
- Attend when needed or required, key events including shoots, dinners, gala, and conferences/conventions. Other duties as assigned by the Conservation Programs Manager, Director of Conservation or the Executive Director and CEO.
- Effectively plan and manage an active travel schedule to oversee projects/events, support USA events and build relationships within your markets. This job requires frequent travel.
Physical Demands
Working conditions are a combination of office and outdoor environment. This position may require you to sit or stand for most of the workday. Must be willing and able to drive and fly for extended periods. Must be able to safely lift 50-75 lbs. and participate in the loading and unloading of equipment. This job requires frequent travel.
