Position Title:         Deposit Development Officer 
Reports To:             Chief Executive Officer 
Status:                     Salary; Exempt 
 
Position Summary:  The Deposit Development Officer is responsible for developing new business and increasing deposits by identifying and acquiring new customers and enhancing existing customer relationships. This position will be a product knowledge expert that will partner with all areas of the bank to create opportunities to increase the bank’s relevance to customers.                                                   
 
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
  • Identifies, acquires, and grows new relationships with both personal and business customers. 
  • Creates opportunities and partners with lenders, retail staff, digital services staff, treasury, and marketing to discuss business products, services, and customer onboarding.
  • Is a product knowledge expert and identifies growth opportunities with all Treasury services including, but not limited to Account Opening, ACH, Remote Deposit Capture, Wires, Positive Pay, Account Analysis, Lockbox, Credit Cards, Merchant Services, as well as any emerging products and services.
  • Increases the bank’s relevance to prospective customers and positions the bank for new business opportunities through marketing efforts and value-added ideas. 
  • Responsible for lead generation, utilization of relevant systems, following policies, leveraging product knowledge, and assessing credit needs of prospects.
  • Able to meet and exceed identified deposit volume growth objectives.
  • Collaborates with Market Presidents to develop and implement a highly successful deposit generation campaign within each market with proven target metrics.
  • Partners with lenders and retail staff and other partners to ensure a smooth customer transition.
  • Provides dashboard reporting on activity and production results.
  • Prospective customers will mostly be self-sourced or come from external referral sources. 
  • Represents the Bank at various civic and community functions and events to enhance the Bank’s image and develop new business. 
  • Promotes a favorable image of the Bank in all business activities within the community.
  • Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
Supervisor Responsibilities: N/A

Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience required. Proven success and track record in developing new business relationships. Experience in Commercial Banking, Treasury Management or another related financial field. Valid driver’s license is required. Understands Federal, State and Union State banking rules and regulations.           

Specific Skills Required: Ability to communicate, written and verbal, effectively with people both internally and externally. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with all levels within the organization. Basic computer skills to include proficiency in Word and Excel. Able to handle confidential information and positively represent the company.

Competencies: Relationship management, communication, strategic thinking, goal oriented, and strong collaboration. 

System Accesses: Fiserv Precision, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.

Equipment Used: Office equipment which includes computer, multi-line phone system, multi-function unit, etc. 

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment with significant travel to meet with customers/clients throughout all markets. Frequent (70%) sitting and periodic (less than 10% of the time) physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds; Constant and repetitive use of arms and hands below shoulder level for computer usage; This position exists in an office environment requiring the individual to perform normal activities including, but not limited to, lifting, filing and retrieving, operating office equipment, etc. Some travel is required.
