Union Supply Group has an Inventory Control Supervisor opportunity available in Salt Lake City, Utah.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
- Supervise inventory operations effectively and efficiently as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Place and
- Monitors the unloading of all products into the Receiving Department; Ensures incoming product is properly staged for receiving verification and inspection.
- Oversees the supplying of materials to the bulk storage and picking line areas.
- Ensures products are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures. Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse and conducts pre-scheduled cycle counting.
- Ensures receiving reports, BOL’s and other documents accurately reflect the product being received. Resolves discrepancies with Inventory and Accounting Depts. regarding inaccurate invoices, packing slips, and/or receiver reports. Monitors the flow of paperwork from Receiving to Inventory Control for timely data entry. Oversees the movement of product from the receiving area to the warehouse locations in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.

- Conduct scheduled cycle counts of products.
- Maintain inventory records in the computerized software.
- Update the computer system for new and or depleted products.
- Ensures products are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures. Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse and conducts pre-scheduled cycle counting.
- Supervises the staging of outgoing shipments and ensures all necessary customer shipping documents are included with all completed outgoing shipments.
- Measures overall Shipping and Receiving performance for accuracy utilizing receiving reports and continually monitoring the movement and storage of products and transfers to service locations.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Education & Experience:
- B.S. or B.A. Degree in Business Management preferred in Industrial Management or related field; Three to five years experience in Warehousing, Shipping/Receiving, and Inventory Control, with two years of Supervisory experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Forklift certification (Desirable)
- Driver’s License
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to prioritize projects from several sources and departments
- General office machine experience
- Strong knowledge of Shipping/Receiving practices
- Inventory control knowledge and experience
- PC experience required – word processing and spreadsheet generation
- Supervisory knowledge & experience are a must, with the ability to develop personnel
- Knowledge of Bar Code Technology and Electronic Data Interchange is a must
- 10-key calculator experience
Qualifications
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must pass a background check and maintain a security clearance.
- Must complete yearly training.
- Must pass the drug screening test.
