Union Supply Group has an immediate opening for a Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver. This position requires general warehousing experience along with experience driving 26 ft box trucks, commercial passenger vehicles (ex: buses), and/or similar type commercial vehicles.
SAFETY AND SERVICE INCENTIVE PLAN – QUARTERLY BONUSES
Purpose of Position:
The Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver works at the direction of the Warehouse Manager & Fleet Manager and will be responsible for working where/as needed by the Warehouse Manager to assist in DC operations when not over the road and then will be responsible for executing route deliveries to our customers when over the road under the direction of the Fleet Manager.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Receiving freight shipments; reconciling actual freight received against the shipments accompanying invoices noting any date code/damage issues within the receiving inventory
- Ensuring new stock is marked/rotated as it placed in inventory; cycle counting as necessary
- Picking of orders, quality control scanning of completed orders, packing & loading orders for shipment, and other duties as assigned.
- Loads and unloads vehicles via pallet jacks.
- Pads, stacks, and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment.
- Delivers merchandise on customers’ premises via pallet jack, dolly, and/or by hand as necessary and obtains receipt for goods. Verifies load against shipping papers.
- Drives truck to destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area.
- Drivers into Texas once a week for an overnight run DURING the week.
- Maintains truck log according to State, Federal and Company regulations.
- Performs thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required by Federal regulations and notes any issues as they may arise.
- Maintains telephone contact with Supervisor.
- Does not use Truck or Company fuel/credit card for any personal matters.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months-experience driving straight trucks and/or similar equipment
- General Warehouse and/or Retail: 1 year (Required)
- Must have an "Active DOT Medical Card" or be able to obtain a "DOT Medical Card"
- Clean personal record (no felonies)
- Driving record with minimal/no incidents (no DWI’s, DUI’s, fatalities, etc.)
- Dependability and punctuality to be at work on time each scheduled work day
- Ability to operate professionally & independently with minimal supervision
- Prior experience operation trucks with ELD and ELD related software (preferred)
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must have an "Active DOT Medical Card" or be able to obtain a "DOT Medical Card"
- Driving record with minimal/no incidents (no DWI’s, DUI’s, fatalities, etc.).
- Dependability and punctuality to be at work on time each scheduled work day.
- Ability to operate professionally & independently with minimal supervision.• Prior experience operation trucks with ELD and ELD related software (preferred).
• Will be required to pass a background check prior to an offer of employment and be eligible for security clearances to enter secure correctional facilities.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to push/pull pallets up to 2,000 lbs on/off a truck with a pallet jack.
• Ability to break down and stack boxes weighing 50 lbs as necessary.
