Job Summary

We are looking for an Area Manager to optimize safety, quality, and throughput for plant operations. Collaborate with all support teams including Safety, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to develop plans to meet business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly production workforce.
• Lead daily production meetings and update scheduling boards.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
• Stand/walk for up to 8-12 hours during shifts.
• Work in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather and where noise level varies and can be loud.
• Railcar and freight car experience a plus.
• Able to pass drug screen and physical.
  
  

Education/Experiences/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred preferably in management, engineering, business or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of supervisory related work experience in a lean manufacturing or repair environment.
• Advanced knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, and uses.
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with all departments within company.
• High level of understand related to manufacturing processes, safety procedures, quality procedures and financial reporting.
• Tenacity for identifying opportunities for improvements and developing solutions.
• Self-motivated and strong work ethic with the ability to proactively manage diverse relationships and multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, growing company.
