What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telemetry Support Associate Step-Down/IMCU position at Uniontown Hospital?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Required to complete Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation Course. Two opportunities will be given to pass the RIC exam. If unable to successfully pass the exam on the second attempt you will be terminated as a TSA.

1. Reconciles all cardiac and remote monitor order print outs with cardiac monitor and remote orders in Cerner. Confirms monitor orders and patient location with the Bed Placement Clerk.
2. Utilizes the cardiac monitoring system, including the procedure for adjusting alarms, color codes for waveforms, admitting and discharging, etc. Effectively troubleshoots cardiac monitor issues with Clinical Engineering.
3. Interprets cardiac rhythm strips per telemetry protocols with nurse verification for all documented rhythms. Documents by scanning all cardiac rhythm strips in the electronic health record per protocol.
4. Assesses the level of alarms and communicates abnormalities to the nursing staff and activates Code 68 for life threatening arrhythmias.
5. Provides timely distribution and return of the cardiac monitoring equipment. Ensures the equipment is clean, disinfected and operational. Maintains PAR level of supplies needed for monitors.
6. Performs efficiently in emergency situations, such as Code 68, acute care transfers, etc.
7. Reviews bed status charges and revises for accuracy.
8. Completes monitor charges for recording statistical data.
9. Restocks all medicine cupboards, patient room cupboards and filing drawers with appropriate supplies/forms on a regular basis.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
