Uniqruit has been retained to search for a Human Resources Manager to work a hybrid schedule in the Owings Mills, Maryland area. This role supports approximately 20 locations and up to 400 employees.
Location:
This is a Fulltime, hybrid position. Candidates must reside within one hour of the Owings Mills, MD area and be available to visit locations within the assigned market (3-4 days per week). The market includes Maryland, Virginia, and Eastern Pennsylvania, with the potential to expand as new businesses are acquired. When travel is not required, remote work is permitted.
Compensation:
$85,000 - $95,000 per year, based on experience.
Summary:
The Human Resources Manager will oversee multiple HR-related functions across a network of locations. This role supports field employees through coaching, counseling, and addressing concerns while aligning HR initiatives with broader business objectives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement employee relations and HR policies, programs, and practices to enhance the organization.
- Prepare employees for their roles by establishing and conducting orientation, onboarding, and training programs.
- Train managers to coach employees, address grievances, and support employee development.
- Administer employee benefits programs in collaboration with the Benefits Manager, while recommending program improvements based on trends.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws in all applicable states, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization in hearings.
- Create, update, and enforce management guidelines and HR policies to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Design and maintain an efficient HR filing and retrieval system for past and current records.
- Identify opportunities to enhance department efficiency through process improvements and technology adoption.
- Contribute to team success by supporting broader departmental objectives and providing assistance as needed.
- Conduct routine and unexpected site visits to assigned territories to ensure employee and operational support.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional HR experience is required, with at least 2 years in an HR Business Partner or HR Manager role.
- Preference for candidates with multi-site HR support experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Travel is required within the assigned market (Maryland, Virginia, Eastern Pennsylvania) as well as potential expanded territories based on business growth. Candidates must be adaptable to frequent travel and have a flexible approach to managing responsibilities in a hybrid work environment. Most of the travel is local but you will need to travel overnight to other markets about 30% of the time.
