Job Summary: We are looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Supervisor in New Jersey with excellent communication skills when speaking with the individuals, parents and to collaborate with Support Coordinators. To be able to show compassion and empathy to work with people who are in stressful situations and must be able to organize their work and manage multiple details to ensure clients get the services they need in a timely fashion. In addition to supervising staff, must be able to negotiate to advocate services for the clients. Critical thinking skills help case managers analyze and solve problems. |
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: - To oversee and monitor the daily operations of programs in both New Jersey and New York.
- Supervise DSP staff to ensure that all operations are occurring as per Unique Care Community Services, inc., (UCCS) policies and procedures and OPWDD/DDD regulations/State and Federal Law.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals enrolled in UCCS Programs and Services.
- Monitor and assess each individual’s ability to self-preserve and their awareness of and ability to respond to harm or danger.
- Ensure that all service delivery, habilitation plans, daily and monthly service documentation, individual records, and billing documentation systems are maintained in compliance with all OPWDD/DDD regulations as well as to promote their professional and person-centered standards.
- Provide ongoing supervision, training and professional development to Direct Support Professional. Ensure that all team members receive the appropriate trainings in accordance with OPWDD/DDD regulations as well as to promote their professional growth and development.
- Ensure that all services are provided in a therapeutic, safe, clean and productive environment that promotes individual choice, independence and overall quality of life of individuals served.
- Facilitate the implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISP) and participate in a range of administrative duties including staff hiring, training, scheduling, and oversight.
- Be aware of staff work schedule, personnel training records, payroll submission of timesheets and attendance in a timely manner.
- Conduct and monitor DSP Core Competency Performance Evaluations
- Monitor and track service units to ensure they are being maximized
- Maintain a community Habilitation case load
- Ensure utilization of the Therap tracking system
- All members of the UCCS management team are expected to be available as needed to address programmatic and/or staff emergencies
- Attend conferences, in-service professional trainings and informational meetings as assigned by supervisors to enhance and ensure up to date knowledge of cultural mandates as well as continued professional developments.
