Unique Designs, Inc. is a leading fashion jewelry company seeking an experienced executive to lead our design and merchandising teams. As Vice President Fashion Jewelry Design and Merchandising, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall design and merchandising strategy for the company.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the overall design and merchandising strategy for the company
- Lead and inspire the domestic and overseas design and merchandising teams to achieve creative and business objectives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align design and merchandising strategies with the company's overall goals and vision.
- Manage costs for design and merchandising projects.
Design Oversight:
- Oversee the entire design process, both with the domestic and overseas teams, from concept development to final product approval.
- Evaluate designs to ensure they align with the brand's aesthetic, target market, and quality standards.
- Foster innovation and creativity within the design team to develop unique and trendsetting jewelry collections and packaging.
- Review and approve design sketches, CAD models, and prototypes.
Merchandising Strategy:
- Develop and execute merchandising plans to optimize product assortment, pricing, and placement.
- Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and sales data to inform merchandising decisions.
Product Development:
- Oversight of the product development process, ensuring that designs are translated into high-quality, manufacturable products.
- Collaboration with sourcing to manage timelines, costs, and quality control.
Collaboration:
- Collaboration with other departments, including sales and production, to ensure cohesive product development.
- Partnership with the production team to ensure that designs are feasible and can be manufactured within budget and quality standards.
Trend Analysis and Research:
Market research and industry trend analysis to inform design decisions and keep the brand at the forefront of the costume jewelry market.
Brand Development:
- Development and maintenance of the brand's visual identity across all jewelry collections.
- Creation of guidelines for the brand's visual elements, ensuring consistency across all platforms and products.
- Drive innovation in design to enhance the brand's market position and appeal.
This role requires frequent travel to our locations in Secaucus, NJ, and Cranston, RI.
