Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the operation of a forklift in a warehouse setting and performing various material handling duties. This position requires a high level of skill and ability to ensure that the product is handled in an expedient and safe manner without damage. This position involves the transport, organization, and placement of product in a well-organized and neat manner within the appropriate area of the warehouse, on a truck, or other appropriate location. This individual should possess a good working knowledge of materials handling equipment. The forklift operator is responsible for performing safety inspections of equipment prior to use and for ensuring preventive maintenance and service is performed on a regular basis. Successful completion of instructional course(s) and proper licensing is required prior to operation of any equipment.
- Operate a forklift to load/unload Freight safely and effectively.
- Hand Unload and palletize.
- Provides daily preventative maintenance checks of equipment as required.
- Escalates mechanical equipment issues to Lead Equipment Operator.
- Accurately verifies freight for quality and quantity.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred, not required)
- 5 years of experience in a warehouse setting as a forklift driver
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards
- Have a good sense of balance and good eye-hand-foot coordination
- Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
- Work independently with little guidance
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience driving a forklift
- Comfortable with completing physical tasks in addition to driving forklift
- Comfortable in working outdoors in any weather condition
- A self-starter, autonomous, meticulous, organized and fast paced Must be a team player who is flexible with the daily duties in a fast-paced team environment.
Salary : $20 - $20
