About the Role
As a Corporate Counsel at UNIS, you will be responsible for providing expert and strategic legal advice to management, handling all corporate legal processes, and ensuring legal compliance across our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on a variety of legal issues including contracts, labor law, risk management, and other legal matters relevant to our logistics and supply chain operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents including contracts, agreements, policies, and other legal correspondence.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings (administrative boards, court trials, etc.).
- Assist with mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, negotiation, and integration.
- Oversee compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, updating policies as necessary.
- Collaborate with external legal advisors as needed.
- Conduct and coordinate research on various legal issues.
- Train and educate employees on legal and compliance matters.
- Provide proactive legal assistance and advice on various legal issues such as commercial contracts, dispute resolution, regulatory, employment, and governance.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the state of California or eligible for admission.
- Proven experience as a Corporate Counsel or similar role.
- Strong understanding of business and supply chain logistics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in risk management and conflict resolution.
- Experience in negotiating and drafting contracts.
- Knowledge of MS Office and legal software.
