What are the responsibilities and job description for the bartender position at UniSea?
Basic Function:
Attend to bartending needs for outlet lounge. Act as cocktail server as needed. Make and serve alcoholic beverages to guests in a courteous, efficient, expedient and accurate manner.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare beverages for customers at the bar and fill cocktail server orders according to company specifications in an efficient and courteous manner.
- Collect payment for drinks from both guests and cocktail servers.
- Ensure accuracy of deposit. Make sure all food and beverage orders are recorded correctly, and all control measures are observed.
- Maintain strict compliance with all Alaska State regulations and company policies regarding alcohol service, as well as all safety and health laws and codes.
- Monitor and regulate consumption of alcohol and display sound judgment as to when to stop service.
- Maintain cleanliness of bar area at all times.
- Complete all assigned side work.
- Develop, implement and maintain Everyday Focus activities to ensure continuous improvements and cost efficiencies in position and department.
- Assist in monthly inventories.
Secondary Duties:
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be TIPS certified to sell alcohol.
Position Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have 1 year experience in bartending and food and beverage experience in a fast-paced environment, including cash handling.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and be TIPS certified to sell alcohol.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
This is an hourly non-exempt position with a rate of $15.00 per hour and is eligible for tips.
