What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory administrator position at UniSea?
Basic Function
Assist in all daily inventory duties, including the preparation and distribution of outgoing freight manifests, distribution of inventory related information, transaction maintenance, and employee time tracking. Assist the Inventory Supervisor in data entry and review shipping transactions. Responsible for maintaining and completing required Federal shipping reports and logbooks.
Essential Duties
- Print, prepare and distribute outgoing freight documents and maintaining documentation for inbound freight.
- Generate shipping numbers, tally sheets, and loading instructions for G1, G2, and the Meal Plants outbound product.
- Review all shipping transactions and documents for accuracy, and provide copies to the Sales Department and Logistics, as needed.
- Responsible for contacting shipping companies and scheduling deliveries and pick-ups of containerized freight.
- Assist in data entry for all inventory related transactions into NorthScope ERP system and Velocity.
- Assist in maintaining reports for inventory related transactions and inventory reviews.
- Responsible for the maintenance, reporting and distribution of all National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) related shipping reports and logbooks.
- Prepare and complete surimi grading and other related data entry upon receipt of necessary information from QA and Sales department.
- Prepare and process bait invoices including for local sales.
- Ensure all inventory-related documents are organized and maintained in an easily accessible format for audits.
- Review inventory employees’ timesheets and correct missing punches and task coding. Coordinate with Inventory Control Manager on creating employee work schedules.
- Coordinate with Inventory Control Specialist II to organize safety meeting content and present the information for the inventory groups twice monthly safety meetings. Responsible for attending the Dutch Harbor Safety Committee Meetings for Inventory Department.
Secondary Duties
- In the absence of Inventory Specialist II, this position will assist with supervising Inventory department staff.
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- 1-3 years of previous inventory experience or inventory administration experience preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Alaska Driver’s License and safely operate all necessary vehicles.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access is required. Must be comfortable working with computers and learning new software programs.
- 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience preferred.
This is an hourly non-exempt position located in Dutch Harbor, Alaska with a rate of $18.55 – $24.12 per hour.
