Job Description: Under general supervision, implements therapeutic recreational activities for clients in the Residential AD program. Maximum capacity of 26 clients. Activities include sports, gardening, dramatics, music, social activities, arts and crafts. Observes, analyzes and records clients’ participation, reactions, and progress during treatment sessions, modifying treatment programs as needed.
Anticipated Schedule: Monday – Friday, 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM; alternating weekends required
PLEASE NOTE: This position is a grant funded position for 1 year.
Competencies: Knowledge of diagnostic impressions or criteria. Knowledge of how client advocacy system operates. Knowledge of exercise programs such as yoga, aerobics, walking for wellness and relaxation techniques. Ability to implement program activities according to policies and procedures and client’s needs.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma AND one year of related experience working with mental health and/or substance abuse population. Experience with implementing group activities preferred.
