Job Description: The Healthcare Navigator enrolls individuals in health insurance, assists with post-enrollment activities and accessing support services, assists with network meetings and program activities. Assists with public education and outreach in communities targeted by IMPACT funding. This position will entail community involvement and some travel between Coffee, Atkinson, and Clinch counties. Position is part of a 4-year grant.
Schedule: Will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Competencies: Knowledge of diagnostic impressions or criteria. Knowledge of how client advocacy system operates. Knowledge of individual and group techniques. Knowledge of various therapeutic models and intervention as directly related to area of assignment. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. Skills in writing, editing and presentation. Must have excellent spoken communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills. Skills in organization and planning, flexibility, and adaptability. Ability to create and manage activities. Ability to engage and establish relationships with clients, staff, and community. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Publisher, and Adobe Suite.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience working in MH or SUD services or related experience. Minimum of one year’s experience working with community-based organizations coordinating activities and services across agencies. Familiarity with behavioral health services and the Hispanic/Latino population of focus.
